The first step in organizing your kitchen is to take inventory on all of the appliances, cookware and utensils you have. Think about the last time you used each item and ask yourself if you will be using it in the future. If your answer is no, you should remove the item from your kitchen and give it to a charity, family member or friend. Look especially at small appliances such as a waffle maker.
Do you open your drawers and find a jumbled mess? When you open the silverware drawer are you faced with a tangled mess of silverware, napkins, and seemingly random objects?
Choosing drawers for your lower cabinets provides far more flexibility meaning kitchen elements can be stored and retrieved easily. Baseline drawers are also better for storing large items such as pots, frying pans and casseroles. Whilst rollout trays provide similar functionality they require additional cabinetry: doors and rollout trays.
We looked and planned the movements around the kitchen, what we wanted to do with the space and how we wanted the kitchen to function.
